1. COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Service depends on the content and materials you use and includes:
a. Personal Data
This includes demographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number and shipping address) that you voluntarily provide when registering to the Platform or participating in various activities related to the Service. Please be advised that if you choose to share data via your profile or interactive areas (including accumulated artist points and artist names), this information becomes public and accessible to anyone accessing the Service.
b. Derivative Data
Our servers automatically collect information when you access the Service, such as native actions integral to the Service, interactions with other users, and server log files. This may include tracking time spent on specific sections of the Platform or feedback you provide, used exclusively to improve our Service.
c. Financial Data
We may collect data related to your payment method (e.g., valid credit card number, brand, expiration date) when you purchase or request services. MEUS stores only very limited, if any, financial information. Most financial data is stored securely by our third-party payment processors: PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay. You are encouraged to review their respective privacy policies.
d. Music Streaming and Media Permissions
By default or through your uploads, the Service may access basic account information from Spotify, Apple Music, Last.fm, or YouTube (including name, email, and current city). With your explicit consent, we may collect and process your listening or viewing history.
This data may be gathered from any streaming platform you use, obtained either via official APIs or natively from your mobile device or computer system. We perform this collection for the exclusive purpose of attributing points to your profile whenever and wherever you listen to music. You may manage or revoke these permissions at any time via your respective third-party account settings or your device’s internal permission manager.
e. Data from email providers
Specifically, we will use and store data and information coming from your email inbox only to verify if you have purchased something that is music-related like a ticket for a live or merchandise of your favorite artist. We perform the same verification for "Travel and Living" purchases (e.g., hotels, flights, rentals) that are related exclusively to your music tourism and event attendance. No other personal information from your travel bookings other than the item, date, and points will be stored.
f. Social Network Integration
If you connect your account to social networks such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snap, X, Discord, or Threads, we may collect your username, profile picture, gender, birth date, and public contact data. This may also include contact information for individuals you invite to join the Service.
g. Mobile Device Access and Data
We may request access to device features including your camera, camera roll, Bluetooth, contacts, and location-based information to provide specific services. We also collect device-specific data such as your mobile device ID, model, manufacturer, and operating system version. You can manage these permissions at any time through your device’s settings.
h. Additional Data Sources
Push Notifications: We may send notifications regarding your account; these can be disabled in your device settings.
Third-Party Data: Information from network friends or personal data granted via third-party account connections.
Contests and Surveys: Personal information provided during entries into contests, freebies, or surveys.
Authentication Providers: Registration is supported via OAuth 2.0 through Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Yahoo.
2. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND AUTOMATED DATA PROCESSING
At MEUS, we use cutting-edge technology to ensure you receive every point you deserve for your passion. To provide this automated experience, we employ Artificial Intelligence (AI) under strict ethical and legal guidelines in compliance with the EU AI Act and the GDPR.
a. The Purpose of AI in MEUS
We use AI to bridge the gap between your real-world purchases and your digital fan profile. By analyzing purchase confirmations, our systems can instantly recognize your support for an artist and award points without requiring manual data entry from you.
b. Limited and Ethical Email Access
We only access your email inbox (via Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, or Apple) if you provide explicit permission through OAuth 2.0. Our proprietary AI models are programmed with a "Strict Filter": they only scan for music-related transactions, such as live event tickets, official artist merchandise, and music-related travel or "music tourism". Our systems are designed to ignore all other private correspondence.
c. Collaboration with OpenAI (Data Minimization)
To accurately identify specific artists from complex receipt descriptions, we may use OpenAI APIs. To protect your privacy, we apply a "Data Minimization" principle:
Restricted Sharing: We only share the item name and item description with OpenAI.
Anonymity: No names, email addresses, or financial details are ever sent to OpenAI.
Internal Extraction: All other processing is handled by MEUS’s internal technology to ensure your data stays within our secure environment.
d. Automated Decision-Making and Human Oversight
The points attributed to your profile are the result of automated processing. We recognize that technology can sometimes make mistakes. If you believe the AI has made an error in identifying a purchase or an artist:
In-App Support: You can use the "Generate Support Ticket" function available globally in the app or specifically attached to any individual purchase.
Direct Contact: You have the right to request a manual review by our team by contacting us at privacy@meusfan.com.
e. Storage and User Control
We do not build a "lifestyle profile" from your emails. We only store the resulting points, the name of the purchased item, and the date of the transaction. You remain in full control: you can revoke our access to your email account at any time through your MEUS profile settings or via your email provider's security dashboard.
3. USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
Having accurate information about you allows us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. We process your information based on specific legal grounds as required by the GDPR and the EU AI Act. Specifically, we use the information collected about you via the Service for the following purposes:
a. For the Performance of our Contractual Obligations (Art. 6.1.b GDPR)
To provide the Service you requested, we process your data to:
Account Management: Create and manage your personal user account, allowing you to access the Platform’s features and maintain your fan profile.
Leaderboards and Rankings: Generate and display your position in fan leaderboards for specific artists, including the public display of points earned through your support.
Reward Fulfillment: Administer and deliver digital certifications, badges, or physical prizes awarded by artists or third-party organizers.
Customer Support: Manage and resolve technical issues, including the processing of support tickets generated via our in-app feature regarding purchase verification or point attribution.
Operational Communications: Send you essential information regarding your account, such as password resets, security alerts, and updates to our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy.
b. Based on Your Explicit Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR)
Where you have provided your clear and informed consent, we use your data to:
AI-Powered Purchase Verification: Access your authorized email accounts (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Apple) to scan for music-related receipts and automatically award points via our AI models.
Marketing and Promotions: Send you newsletters, push notifications, and marketing emails about new features, upcoming concerts, or exclusive merchandise from MEUS or our selected partners.
Social Integration: Enable social features that allow you to find and connect with friends, share your achievements on social media, or invite contacts to join the Platform.
Personalized Recommendations: Offer you tailored suggestions for artists, events, or products based on your listening history and purchase patterns.
c. For our Legitimate Interests (Art. 6.1.f GDPR)
We process your data to pursue our legitimate business interests, provided they do not override your fundamental rights:
Platform Analytics: Compile anonymous and aggregate statistical data to analyze usage trends, monitor the performance of the Platform, and improve the overall user experience.
Security and Fraud Prevention: Protect the MEUS community by monitoring for suspicious activity, preventing fraudulent transactions, and ensuring the technical integrity of our systems.
Business Development: Analyze demographic data to improve our service offerings and provide advertisers or investors with general business analysis (on an aggregated and non-identifiable basis).
Advertising Management: Deliver and measure the effectiveness of advertisements, sponsorships, and promotions within and outside the Service.
d. To Comply with Legal Obligations (Art. 6.1.c GDPR)
Finally, we may process your data to meet legal requirements, such as:
Financial Record-Keeping: Managing payments, invoices, and tax documentation related to your subscriptions or purchases.
Legal Compliance: Responding to subpoenas, court orders, or lawful requests from government authorities and investigating potential violations of our policies.
4. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:
a. Public Postings and Fan Leaderboards
By design, MEUS is a social and competitive platform for music fans. Therefore, certain information will be made public by default:
Fan Rankings: Your username, profile picture, the artists you support, and the total points you have accumulated are visible to all users of the Service.
Interactive Areas: If you post comments, contributions, or other content to interactive areas of the Service, those posts may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside the Service in perpetuity.
b. By Law or to Protect Rights
If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation. This includes exchanging information with other entities for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
c. Third-Party Service Providers (Technical Partners)
We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including:
AI Analysis (OpenAI): As detailed in Section 2, we share limited, non-identifiable data (item names and descriptions from receipts) with OpenAI to categorize your purchases and attribute points.
Data Hosting: Our infrastructure is managed through professional providers with servers located in the European Union (Germany).
Payment Processing: Financial transactions are handled by providers such as PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.
Email and Communication: We use third-party services to deliver newsletters, SMS, and transactional emails.
d. Artists and Event Organizers
To provide you with the rewards and certifications you earn, we may share relevant data (such as your username or contact details for physical prizes) with the Artists you support or the Event Organizers (Contest/Freebie Organizers) you interact with. These parties are independent controllers of your data once received, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
e. Marketing and Third-Party Advertisers
We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit the Service. These companies may use information about your visits to the Service and other websites that are contained in web cookies in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We do not sell your "private" email data to advertisers.
f. Business Transfers and Affiliates
If we reorganize or sell all or a portion of our assets, undergo a merger, or are acquired by another entity, we may transfer your information to the successor entity. We may also share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.
5. TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
To enhance your experience and provide personalized services, MEUS utilizes various tracking technologies. These tools help us understand how you interact with our Platform and ensure its technical stability.
a. Cookies and Web Beacons
We may use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, and other tracking technologies on the Service to help customize the Service and improve your experience.
Cookies: Small text files stored on your device that help us remember your preferences and login sessions. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default, but you can remove or reject them in your browser settings. Please be aware that such action could affect the availability and functionality of the Service.
Web Beacons: Tiny graphics (also known as "clear gifs" or "pixels") that allow us to track the effectiveness of our communications. While you may not decline web beacons, they can be rendered ineffective by declining all cookies or by modifying your web browser's settings to notify you each time a cookie is tendered.
b. Website and App Analytics
We partner with selected third-party vendors, such as Google Analytics, to allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on the Service. These vendors use first-party and third-party cookies to:
Analyze and track user behavior and the popularity of certain content.
Better understand online activity and optimize the Platform’s features.
Monitor usage trends to improve the Service we offer to you.
By accessing the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information by these third-party vendors. We do not transfer personal information to these third-party vendors. We encourage you to review their privacy policies and contact them directly for any questions regarding their data practices.
c. Internet-Based Advertising
We may use third-party software to serve advertisements on the Service, implement email marketing campaigns, and manage other interactive marketing initiatives. These third-party software providers may use cookies or similar tracking technology to help manage and optimize your online experience with us.
d. User Management of Tracking
You should be aware that getting a new computer, installing a new browser, upgrading an existing browser, or erasing/altering your browser’s cookies files may also clear certain opt-out cookies, plug-ins, or settings. For mobile users, you can manage tracking permissions directly through your device's operating system settings (e.g., iOS "Allow Apps to Request to Track" or Android’s Privacy Dashboard).
6. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES
The Service may contain links to third-party websites and applications of interest, including advertisements and external services, that are not affiliated with us. These links are provided to enhance your experience within the music ecosystem and facilitate your participation in fan activities.
a. Scope of External Services
This includes, but is not limited to:
Ticket Sellers: Platforms such as Ticketmaster, DICE, Eventim, or See Tickets where you purchase access to live performances.
Merchandise Sellers: Official artist webstores, Bandcamp, or large-scale retailers such as Amazon (for official music-related products) selling physical goods.
Travel & Stay: Booking platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, or specialized music tourism agencies used for your "music tourism" trips.
b. Lack of Control and Responsibility
Once you have used these links to leave the Service, any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy, and we cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of your information. We are not responsible for the content, privacy, and security practices of any third parties, including other sites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from the Service.
c. User Due Diligence
Before visiting and providing any information to any third-party websites, you should inform yourself of their specific privacy policies. You are responsible for taking the necessary steps to protect the privacy of your information. If you no longer wish to receive communications from these third parties, you must contact them directly.
7. SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION AND DATA LOCALIZATION
We implement industry-leading technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.
Encryption & Transmission: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS). Connections to third-party APIs (Google, Microsoft, Spotify, etc.) are handled via secure OAuth 2.0 protocols, ensuring we never see or store your external passwords.
Storage Security: Your primary data is stored on encrypted servers located in Germany (EU), following the strictest ISO/SEC standards and GDPR requirements.
AI Processing Integrity: Data sent to MEUS AI, Google Gemini, or OpenAI is transmitted through secure API tunnels. In accordance with our "Zero Retention" policy, this data is used only for real-time verification and is not stored or used for training models by third-party providers.
8. POLICY FOR CHILDREN
MEUS recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of young fans across different jurisdictions. Our Service is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 13 globally, with specific regional exceptions as noted below.
a. Age Thresholds and Global Standards
General Policy: We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are under 13, please do not use or access the Service.
South Korea (12+): In compliance with local ratings and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), users in South Korea aged 12 and above may access the Platform. However, for users under the age of 14 in South Korea, we may require additional steps to obtain the consent of a legal representative for data processing.
Australia (Best Interests Principle): For Australian residents, we apply the "Best Interests of the Child" principle. While the Service is available to young fans, we require verifiable parental or guardian consent for users under the age of 15 to ensure high-level data protection.
EU/EEA Residents (13-16): In accordance with the GDPR, the age for autonomous digital consent varies by country (between 13 and 16). We require parental consent for users below the specific age threshold of their member state.
b. Deletion and Parental Rights
Proactive Deletion: If we discover that Personal Information has been collected from a person under the age of 13 (or the relevant local threshold) without verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete this information from our systems.
Exercise of Rights: If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has provided Personal Information to us without your permission, you may alert us at privacy@meusfan.com. You may request to review the data, stop further collection, or ask for the complete deletion of your child’s Personal Information
9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected.
At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Policy.
10. OPTIONS REGARDING YOUR INFORMATION
We believe in giving you full control over your data. Below are the options available to you regarding the information you share with MEUS:

MEUS S.R.L. utilizes specialized Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to provide automated features, such as music purchase verification and streaming activity tracking. Our commitment to your privacy is reflected in our strict adherence to the developer policies of these global providers.
a. Google API Services – Limited Use and Restricted Scope Disclosure
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Purpose-Driven Access: We only access the specific scopes required to verify music-related transactions (e.g., Gmail read-only access for receipts) to award fan points.
Data Minimization and Transfers: We do not transfer Google user data to third parties, with the exception of necessary security investigations, legal compliance, or as part of a merger/acquisition where explicit prior consent is obtained.
Human Review Restrictions: We do not allow our employees or contractors to read your raw Google data. Human access is only permitted if you provide affirmative agreement for a specific troubleshooting request, or if strictly necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating a bug or abuse) and legal compliance.
No Advertising Use: Data obtained via Google APIs is never used for serving, targeting, or personalized advertising.
b. Microsoft APIs and Outlook Guidelines
In accordance with the Microsoft APIs Guidelines, MEUS S.R.L. operates under the principle of "Least Privilege".
